Odd Eye Girls
This is my Bachelor's Final Project, where I designed a fake user interface inspired by the Loonaverse telling the story of magical girls with a digital twist to them!
Project: Odd Eye Girls
Role: Creative director, graphic designer and animator.

Date: Aug - Dec 2021
For my Bachelor's Final Project I was tasked with the creation of a fake user interface that integrates all the knowledge acquired throughout the course, such as 2D and 3D design, use of grids and cameras, animation and systemic design, among others.
Inspired by the musical group LOONA, I took the story they tell about the Odd Eyed Girls as the main theme: They're a group of young people with a special unique eye that glows an upward crescent moon. The LOONAVERSE is the fictional universe the members of LOONA live in, and it's depicted through their music videos and albums. It's in this place where I detected the perfect space for a graphic system that could illustrate the story even better!
Through their Odd Eyes, the protagonists can track, detect and recognize more people like them; and the screens I designed seek to illustrate those magical concepts as if they were, for one day, technological. Let's join the girls on their search:
Into the Loonaverse!
From the official logo showing the phases of the moon to the album covers centered around orbits, and even songs such as Eclipse and Satellite, the idea of the universe and space plays heavily into LOONA's concept, with the moon at the center of it. This was an incredibly attractive theme for me to explore with design!
The Odd Eye Circle is made up of three original girls: Kim Lip, Jinsoul and Choerry. They all have Odd Eyes and they're in the perpetual search for more Odds like them to claim to the Circle. That search is the system I looked to represent via interfaces!
An everlasting search
Plenty of imageries and metaphors are in LOONA's music, lyrics, albums and music videos for fans to search like puzzle pieces to complete. With this interface, I aimed to redefine a magic system in a brand new digital way, translating feelings and inklings into graphs, charts and parameters, to bring their cosmos down to earth.

With the Odd Eyes, the girls detect each other's presence. How would that work if they were, say, robots? How could a system measure things like that? With those questions fresh in my mind, I designed the screens accordingly.
Catch them if you can!
